Candidate will assist with Blanding's turtle conservation efforts throughout the DEC Region 6. This work will include operating turtle traps, maintenance and management of natural and artificial turtle nesting habitats, monitoring turtle nesting habitat use, and nest protection. The candidate will be required to work extensively in the field in semi-remote areas, with some office data entry time. This position will require orienteering with map, compass, and GPS. Surveys will require working in semi-remote locations during inclement weather conditions and extreme temperatures. This person must be proficient in use of a canoe. Candidates will also assist with spruce grouse recovery and must be willing to camp for 14-day stretches in remote locations during spruce grouse captures in Ontario. A passport will be required by travel dates. This candidate will also be responsible for other Wildlife duties as assigned.

Salary Range:
From $18.22 to $18.22 Hourly
Minimum Qualification
30 semester credit hours, including 12 semester credit hours in fisheries, marine resources or wildlife management; mariculture; marine biology; aquaculture; aquatic, marine or terrestrial ecology; zoology; marine technology; botany; limnology; hydrology; or oceanography. Preferred:
-Proficiency in orienteering -Good communication skillsEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
