Clarkson University is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Controller. This position facilitates the preparation of University financial statement reports and communication of financial information across the university. This position will assist with creation and maintenance of accounting manual policies, procedures, and forms, as well as create various ad-hoc financial system queries and reports, assists with system upgrades, enhancements, and implementations, assists with system maintenance, integrity of data, and in the design and maintenance of Controller's Office webpages. This position supervises the financial business analyst/report writer.
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor degree in accounting or bachelor in related field with minimum of13 credit hours in accounting, intermediate level of knowledge of Microsoft Office, 3 years of accounting experience with progressive responsibility, and query and/or report writing experience. Preferred qualifications include advanced degree, experience with PeopleSoft Financials or other ERP systems, and substantial accounting experience in an academic and culturally diverse environment.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
